SEASON OF GROWTH © Nancy Murillo When we are in pain, when we can’t see a way out, when the days drag by without solutions, He comes to us with tenderness and incredible love. We must learn not only to embrace the season we’re in, to enjoy its gifts and confront its challenges, but also to let it go when the seasons change. The best fruit comes in God’s own time - and in the appropriate season. Discipline is not always easy or comfortable, and is sometimes painful, so I resist. I prefer to do what comes naturally. But I know that discipline is essential and sometimes, the wisest thing we can do is wait, grow, and follow God. Our faith is tested and we learn that we can only do so much ... we can tend, nourish, cultivate and prune ... and the rest is in God’s hands. Circumstances in our lives can be troublesome, even devastating, but they are just circumstances. Out of our bruised and broken lives, God brings forth the fruits of the Spirit ... love, peace, patience, gentleness, and self-control. He is the God of loving compassion whose mercies never fail. Lessons are learned. Changes made. Relationships healed. Hope restored. It is all His doing. That’s why we mark it with celebration. The celebration is just as important as diligence and perseverance. The end product for those who persevere in faith is a gentle and humble spirit. Softness and sweetness are measures of strength and markers of maturity. Rejoice! and Let the Harvest Begin!
